Fall Fun Fest 2004

Don’t miss the 9th Annual Fall FunFest featuring the 15th Annual Cookeville CookOff and WCTE-TV’s Stations of Imagination around Cookeville’s historic downtown Square, Friday and Saturday, September 10 and 11.

The 2004 festival will begin with a spectacular parachute jumping performance from the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. The jump is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10. Friday night's music kicks off with The Cluster Pluckers at 6:30 p.m. on the Bi-Lo Main Stage and wraps up with The Kadillacs at 8:30 p.m.

Other event highlights include the 4th Annual Fall FunFest FunRun sponsored by Eloqui Wireless and the Extreme Kids Zone, full of inflatables and frolic. The FunRun gets started early Saturday, September 11. Join us at the corner of Dixie and Broad at 7 a.m. for the race!

Saturday's music line-up features performances on two stages. The Corona CityStage begins with a Karaoke Contest hosted by Magic 98.5 at 10:30 a.m. Acoustic musicians take over the Corona CityStage from 2:00 to 8:30 p.m., featuring Blind Spot, Mike Rayson, Dylan Blake, Ronnie King, and Chris Rains.

On the Bi-Lo Main Stage, local Battle of the Bands champs Groundskeeper Willy and the Transcendalists begin at 11:00 a.m. The afternoon performances include Stoney Lonesome, Maggie Brown, Roy Roberts and Brandon Giles. At 8:30 p.m. the Bi-Lo Main Stage headliner, Jonell Mosser, will wrap up Fall FunFest's entertainment.

Great food is part of the Fall FunFest, too.
     The Tennessee State Championship of the Kansas City Barbecue Society, otherwise known as the 15th Annual Cookeville CookOff, will feature more than 30 teams vying for $10,000 in prize money and the opportunity to compete in the national finals. 
     The Anything But Anything Goes contest returns this year giving backyard chefs an opportunity to show off their talents by preparing a dish that uses ingredients other than the traditional brisket, chicken or pork used in competition. The winner gets $200 and bragging rights!

The Highland Rim Chapter of the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists have committed their unique talents and offerings once again with handmade pieces of art and educational activities for the kids.

WCTE-TV’s Stations of Imagination will feature more than 40 fun-filled, educational activity booths, and Clifford, the Big Red Dog. Mark your calendar and plan to attend the Fall FunFest September 10 and 11, 2004!
